In celebration of his performance over the weekend at BBC Radio One's Big Weekend event in Norwich, David Guetta was asked to come on to the air and deliver an "influences" essential mix. The "Hey Mama" DJ packed his two-hour mix with timeless classics from the likes of Marshall Jefferson, Danny Tenaglia, Masters at Work, Laurent Garnier and others.
The Frenchman may get a lot of hate, but he does know his music and with his wealth of experience from DJing for four decades, he knows electronic music as well as just about anybody.
He described why he chose these tracks to open up the mix. "This is what I used to play when I first started to DJ. It brought me back to some amazing memories of DJing from the time when I started playing house music in 1988 until now. A lot has been changing, but my heart is still the same, and the music is still real."
