Paul McCartney already has a pretty long resume, from his work with The Beatles to Wings to spending "FourFiveSeconds" with Kanye West and Rihanna. But, Sir Paul almost had another talent to add to his ever-growing list: one of the Friends. In a new interview, the casting director Leslie Litt revealed she wanted the legendary singer to play the father of Ross' ill-fated wife Emily Watham.

For those who aren't Friends fanatics, in the season four finale, the Friends (minus Phoebe) jet off to London for Ross to marry his British beau Emily. This, of course, is the infamous episode where Ross accidentally says the wrong name ("Rachel") at the altar, but the couple gets married anyway.

Before that fiasco, the Gellars have a run-in with their future in-laws, and that's where McCartney would have come in as Mr. Watham.

"I went through his manager and gave him all the details," said Litt in an interview with The Huffington Post. "One day, someone in the office brought me a faxed letter written to me by Paul himself!"

Unfortunately for the Friends and potentially McCartney himself, he had to turn down the role.

"He thanked me for my interest and said how flattered he was, but it was a very busy time for him," Litt said.

The role eventually went to Tom Conti, who got to threaten the groom and his family with classic lines such as "You want a piece of me, sir?" and "I could kill you with my thumb, you know."
