After coming across an ad on social media, New Found Glory guitarist Chad Gilbert decided to gather his band mates to rescue a soon-to-be slaughtered horse by the name of, coincidentally, New Found Glory.

While skimming through social media to see fan feedback of the pop punk band's recently announced tour with Yellowcard and Tiger's Jaw, Gilbert stumbled across New Found Glory the horse and found out she only had hours to live. For a small auction price of $350, "everyone thought it would be great," Gilbert told TMZ of buying and saving the horse at the last minute.

The group later found the horse a Texas home complete with plenty of space to roam via Freedom4Horses and Gilbert shared an excited, animal activist post to Instagram that said "Meet @newfoundglory the HORSE!" he wrote on Wednesday (May 27). "Last night at 9pm I came across a horse that was supposed to be slaughtered at 10 am this morning. Sooooo we bought it! Saved it and found her a home! She is somewhere in Texas now and I hope we get to meet her in person soon!"

The group consisting of Chad Gilbert, Cyrus Bolooki, Ian Grushka and Jordan Pundik has been taking over the pop punk scene since their 1999 debut. According to Radio.com, their latest LP, Resurrection, saw its release in 2014 and since then, the band has been playing shows while taking on animal activism during its downtime.
