The feud between pop superstars Taylor Swift and Katy Perry seems very real, and if a new song registered by the "Teenage Dream" singer is any indication, things are just about to get fired up. According to a new registry on the song database BMI, Perry is aiming to parody Swift with a new song titled "1984."

As Racked.com points out, a new song has legally appeared on BMI's page under Perry's name. Co-written by prolific songwriters Dallas Austin and Andreas Carlson, Perry's new single "1984" sure seems to be a dis aimed at Swift, who broke out as a bone fide pop star with her new album 1989. Just like Swift, Perry's track is named after her birth year, another possible knock at her new rival.

If Perry's "1984" is aimed at Swift, of course she wasn't the one to start this feud. That began with the release of Swift's "Bad Blood," which was targeted at Perry. Though not specifically named, Swift revealed that her latest single was aimed at one of her contemporaries in a pre-album release interview with Rolling Stone.

"For years, I was never sure if we were friends or not. She would come up to me at awards shows and say something and walk away, and I would think, 'Are we friends, or did she just give me the harshest insult of my life?" Swift said. "[Then last year] she did something so horrible. I was like, 'Oh, we're just straight-up enemies.' And it wasn't even about a guy!

"She basically tried to sabotage an entire arena tour. She tried to hire a bunch of people out from under me. And I'm surprisingly non-confrontational -- you would not believe how much I hate conflict. So now I have to avoid her. It's awkward, and I don't like it."

Later, Swift released a friends-filled music video for the track, with Selena Gomez dressed in a wig not wholly dissimilar from Perry's cropped black locks.

When "1984" will officially be released has yet to be announced.
