Brooklyn indie rockers TV On The Radio kicked off its Brisbane encore by jamming to a cover of the Game of Thrones theme song, originally crafted by Raim Djwadi.

The extra performance included a 90-second dub rendition of the HBO fantasy drama theme song, which the band then transitioned into "Ride," a track off of their latest and fifth LP, Seeds. The foursome of Tunde Adebimpe, David Sitek, Kyp Malone and Jaleel Bunton have been previously featured in a trailer for the HBO series with its cover of "Heroes" by David Bowie. During the Australian performance, the audience was hypnotized by front man Adebimpe channelling his inner Targaryen and reciting "Mother of Dragons," although the concert remained free of dragons.

The show has incorporated celebrity and musical cameos such as metal band Mastodon, which took on roles as terrifying Wildings. They were enlisted by executive producer Dan Weiss for their involvement in the show where they met their fateful death after being resurrected by White Walkers and murdered with knives. Most of the Atlanta metal group contributed an original song for the series, titled "White Walker," which is featured on the Game of Thrones mixtape Catch the Throne Vol 2, reports NME.

Trance artist Armin van Buuren recently put his own remix on the theme song that guides viewers through the hills and fierce weather of Westeros during the opening credits. Further cameos include Snow Patrol's frontman Gary Lightbody, who made his debut in Season three as a soldier while Coldplay's Guy Berryman appeared as a drummer, also in Season three. Icelandic group Sigur Rós emerged at musicians during a season four episode, notes Consequence of Sound.
