The Foo Fighters have cancelled two dates in light of Dave Grohl's recent fracturing of his leg at a show in Gothenburg, Sweden...a bummer but a seemingly minor roadblock considering the damage that was done. The band will be pulling out of its appearance at the Pinkpop Music Festival in the Netherlands and another show at St. Gallen in Switzerland.

"As witnessed by tens of thousands in attendance at Foo Fighters' June 12 show at Ullevi Stadium, Dave Grohl took a nasty spill during the second song of the set," read a statement on the band's site. "With the help of on-site medical staff who patched him up temporarily, Dave was able to rejoin the band to complete that performance," read a statement. "While the full extent of Dave's injuries are still being determined, it was confirmed at a post-show hospital visit that he sustained at least one fracture."

It's not as if the band has a huge patch of off-days following those tow dates however. The recent cancellations mean that the next show will take place June 19 at Wembley Arena. Five days certainly isn't enough to recover from a fractured leg...but Grohl will apparently make the best out of the situation. It's certainly possible for him to give a show while sitting down...but that certainly wouldn't suit his trademark style of bounding around stage like a madman (which got him in this situation to begin with).

The band is also noted for its lengthy live performances. Florence Welch of Florence + The Machine spent a few months playing shorter sets after hurting her leg at Coachella. We'll see if the Foo are still in it for the long run.

It's interesting that Wembley will be the band's next stop, meaning it will have hosted the two biggest injured performers in the world this week, as 5 Seconds of Summer's guitarist Michael Clifford suffered facial burns during a show at the arena on Saturday night.
