Legendary singer-songwriter Smokey Robinson and syndicated radio personality Tom Joyner will be honored at the 2015 BET Awards.

The multi-talented Robinson will receive the network's prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award. His growing list of industry achievements include inductions to both the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the Songwriters Hall of Fame as well as an honorary doctorate degree from Berklee College of Music. His career has spanned over nearly six decades.

"I know that I'm a blessed man," he told USA Today. "I came from the ghetto in Detroit, so for me to be living the life that I'm living now is my impossible, most wild dream. When I was a child, I dreamed this would be my life and it's beautiful."

Most notably, Robinson sang as the frontman for the Miracles. He wrote hits for artists such as the Temptations, Mary Wells and Marvin Gaye, in addition to classics like "Tears of a Clown" and "Ooo Baby Baby." Robinson wrote his Grammy-nominated "Crusin'" as well. He later went on to serve as the VP of Motown.

Robinson joins a host of other BET Lifetime Achievement honorees including fellow Motown alum Lionel Richie, Diana Ross and Charlie Wilson.

Joyner will be presented with the Humanitarian Award for his philanthrophic efforts. The radio personality started the Tom Joyner Foundation in 1989 with the intent to help students attending historically black colleges and universities. He has successfully raised more than $60 million.

His weekday morning broadcast, The Tom Joyner Show, has tallied up 8 million listeners since the '90s.

This year's BET Awards performers include Chris Brown, Kendrick Lamar, Nicki Minaj, Meek Mill and Ne-Yo. Smokey Robinson will also take the stage for a performance.

As previously reported, Minaj and Brown received the most nominations this year with six each. Beyoncé and Lil Wayne received four nominations each.

The BET Awards, hosted by Tracee Ellis Ross and Anthony Anderson, will be broadcast live on June 28 at 8 p.m.
