Lily Allen's man may be a late comer, but her newest lyric video is right on time. Today (Feb. 17), the British pop princess released an old-school video game inspired clip for her newest track "L8 CMMR."

Playing off of 1980s arcade games, the lyric video for "L8 CMMR" features a variety of video game scenes, from the opening of an Allen-esque figure traversing through a lyrical landscape a la Mario to a racecar game to a space shooter.

The arcade game settings aren't totally arbitrary, though, and play into the song's lyrics (like any good lyric video). "I could win the race" is accompanied by a winning race game frame, "He won me game, set, and match" comes with a tennis game and "My guy is a bad motherf***er" comes with an angry dude, not unlike Donkey Kong.

It's classic arcade and a colorful fitting landscape to the poppy tune. Watch the lyric video for "L8 CMMR" below:

"L8 CMMR" is Lily Allen's contribution to the Girls Volume 2 soundtrack, which also features cuts from Beck, Miguel and Jenny Lewis.

The track is also the third single that Allen has released in recent months. She's also dropped feminist pop anthem "Hard Out Here" and the atmospheric "Air Balloon"; both those tracks are slated to be on her upcoming third studio album, reportedly due out sometime this year.
