Swedish producer, DJ Eric Prydz has unveiled the first EP PRYDA 10 Vol.1 from his busy forthcoming release calendar that includes in total, three four-track EPs and a complete artist album. The new EP features some of Pryda's more recent IDs as opposed to some of the older tracks that have been promised in the PR(10)DA project.

Eric Prydz has so many unreleased songs that they are known by the place that they were first played. Some gigs have resulted in multiple IDs, such as Creamfields or Madison Square Garden, so one must get specific when talking about those unreleased tracks.

The new EP kicks off with what has been known as the "Shrine ID," where it was first played at the Los Angeles venue on New Year's Eve, now officially titled "Rebel XX." The track sets the tone for the rest of the EP with a dreamy build that suddenly jars you away with a thundering crash of low-end and echoing synths.

The next tune is the oldest and one of the most often requested tracks from Prydz's live sets - his "Firestone ID" now known as "Run." It is another one of those atmospheric tunes with a deep, booming techno-influenced drop and a yell that has taken on a life of its own with crowds.

The EP has three harder, clubbier tracks that could have been released under the guise of his techno moniker Cirez D. However, the strong melodic bridges and builds fit this for a Pryda record and show an ability to move between personas without difficulty, even taking ideas from multiple and mixing them together. "Loving You" is probably the only track that sounds like a traditional Pryda song on the record with masterfully crafted melodies, though he does not really care for those traditional labels. You can purchase the full EP on Beatport and get ready for another batch of tracks sometime next month.
