Often time entertainers from one space, music or acting, try and cross over to another area of expertise. Some of have done it very successfully—Will Smith and Jamie Foxx come to mind—but other times they have flopped. One actor is looking to take that next step into the music world, more specifically DJing and producing and her efforts have caught the eye of some pretty big industry individuals. Orange Is The New Black star Ruby Rose (Stella Carlin in the show, for those who don't watch) was just signed to European booking agency Connected Artists. She will join a roster that includes the likes of Alesso, Axwell, Sebastian Ingrosso, Avicii and others.

Happy to welcome @rubyrose to the booking agency roster! #connectedartists

The Australian model, actress and DJ has seen her stock catapult after being cast on popular Netflix series and has spun that into several other movie and series gigs.

Her move into music is not sudden. She has been making mixes and songs for at least four years, according to the uploads on her Soundcloud, though that would suggest there was work put in before anything was made public.

This past weekend she played several shows in the United States, including a pool party in Chicago and another on July 4 at Pacha NYC. With the new agency, she landed a residency at Las Vegas bottle service club Wynn and will kick it off later next month.

Interestingly enough, Rose is not the first person from OITNB who has crossed over to music. Taryn Manning has also been producing since 2012.
