Chris Brown pleaded not guilty to charges of hit and run on Tuesday in a Los Angeles court. A judge revoked Brown's 2009 probation last week because of the charges, so if Brown is found guilty he could face jail time for the offense.

The alleged hit and run occurred in May when Brown was driving an SUV belonging to occasional girlfriend Karrueche Tran in Los Angeles, when he rear-ended another vehicle. The woman driving the damaged car said she requested license and insurance information from Brown, who she claims went into a fit and shouted obscenities at her. A police report indicated that Brown was driving with an improper license but gave proof of insurance, which covered his personal Lamborghini but not the vehicle he was driving. The charges of driving without a valid license and proof of insurance were dropped.

Brown expressed his irritation with the decision to revoke his probation via Twitter.

"I did everything I was supposed to do during the so called hit n run," he typed. "I provided the correct info. There were no injuries or damages. C'mon!!!"

Brown was still under probation due to his 2009 conviction for assault when he attacked off-and-on girlfriend Rihanna the night before that year's Emmy Awards. Prosecutors had pressured for Brown's probation to be revoked after previous incidents, including a nightclub brawl with rapper Drake and his crew, a parking lot brawl with Frank Ocean and his crew and an incident where the R&B star flew off the handle at a valet over a service charge.
