It seems like it was just yesterday that Charli XCX released her new album Sucker, but it seems as though the "Doing It" singer is already rolling out more new material. Over the weekend at the Positivus Festival in Lisbon, XCX debuted a new single "Mow That Lawn."

Reportedly from her scrapped new wave, "aggressive" album that was scrapped in favor of her sophomore effort Sucker, "Mow That Lawn" indeed features a sludgy guitar riff, deep flowing bass and an indifferent vocal performance from XCX, implying a harder record that floats beneath XCX's poppy surface.

Lyrically, "Mow That Lawn" blends together a sort of unbridled sexual energy with a sense of youthful ennui, which XCX declared before launching into the new track."This is a new song just for you Positivus! It's about chilling the f*ck out," XCX declared to the festival audience.

With a snarl not unlike Gwen Stefani's, XCX chills out in the bitter track. "I'm so bored of starting fights / I just want to buy a house and live in the country side," she sings in the song's opening verse. "I'm so over getting high / But trouble always comes to me and I don't know why / It has always been the same / Since I was 14 I was bad, yeah, I lost my way."

But when XCX tells you to "Mow That Lawn," well, some greater implications can't help but be there for listeners.
