Chris Brown's cancelled New Year's Eve concert in the Philippines has created new trouble for the star. After performing a concert as planned last night (July 21) in Manilla, the "Ayo" singer was barred from leaving the country until he paid back money that he owed to a concert promoter.

Brown was attempting to leave the Philippines this morning (July 22) when his private jet was stopped from taking off at the Manilla airport, according to CNN. The contract dispute at hand barred the 26-year-old singer and concert promoter John Michael Pio Roda from leaving the country until they paid back money owed from ditching the Dec. 31 show.

Brown announced that he would have to abandon the New Year's Eve show at The Philippine Arena just hours before he was due to perform alongside Bamboo, KZ Tandingan, Enrique Gil and Sam Concepcion. Though he was embattled in a slew of legal issues at the time, Brown and his team cited a lost passport for his inability to fulfill his concert obligation.

At the time, Brown promised that he would be back in the Philippines to perform in the new year, though we're sure he didn't expect to be unable to leave the country after he took to the stage.

Brown's inability to leave the Philippines is just the latest issue to face the R&B star as he tours the world in support of his new album X. In January, Brown had to delay the start of his Between the Sheets Tour with Tyga and Trey Songz to finish his community service. He was also denied entry into Canada in February due to his legal issues.
