Ed Sheeran is kind of a big deal in the UK—just look at his streaming numbers from 2015 thus far—so it's no surprise that he can headline a gig at Wembley Stadium. NBC has announced that it'll be airing a special comprised of Sheeran's recent three-date stint at the venue for audiences across the pond.

The show won't be broadcast as-is, but will take cuts from each of Sheeran's three nights (if that offends your sensibilities, know that the Allman Brothers Live At Fillmore East did the same thing). NBC reports that songs will be broken up by "unseen documentary footage with exclusive access that captures the build up around Ed's historic, record-breaking shows at the iconic venue, where he played to 240,000 fans."

"I can't say that performing at Wembley Stadium was a 'dream come true,' because I honestly thought it was out of reach and didn't think it was possible," Sheeran said in a statement released by NBC. "It really doesn't get any bigger than Wembley in my mind, and it was an honour to join the select few that have headlined there. It's definitely a personal milestone, and I'm so glad to share this special moment with all of my fans."

You may have your own favorite track from Sheeran, but let us suggest a moment to look out for: when Elton John joins the pop star onstage for a pair of tracks. Perhaps the biggest pop star in British history came aboard for renditions of his own "Don't Go Breaking My Heart" and Sheeran's "Afire Love."

Selling out Wembley Stadium for three nights is an impressive feat, but almost a foregone conclusion for the biggest star in British music right now (sorry, One Direction). Of the 505 million songs streamed in the UK thus far (according to the British Phonographic Industry), nearly 34 percent were by Sheeran.

Ed Sheeran-Live at Wembley Stadium will broadcast on August 16 at 8 p.m.
