Zac Efron's DJ movie, We Are Your Friends has unveiled a second trailer. The new trailer dives deeper into the plot and pulls back the curtain a little more on Efron's character as a DJ, named Cole Carter in the film, as he tries to navigate the music industry as personal relationships become complicated on his way to DJ stardom.

The trailer also shows Efron as a producer trying to "find something unique" for his tracks as he records the sound of a nail gun hammering away into a roof and a spinning quarter to sample for a track.

Efron stars alongside Emily Ratajkowski and Wes Bentley in the film. Bentley plays a fellow DJ and friend of Efron as they try to make it in Los Angeles EDM scene. He dates Ratajkowski's character who eventually becomes interested in Efron and they begin a relationship of their own.

We Are Your Friends is directed by Max Joseph, who also wrote the screenplay alongside Meaghan Oppenheimer.

The trailer also teases which artists will be featured in the movie's soundtrack, which could be a lucrative sync for artists to get their music out there. Years & Years, Gryffin, Hook N Sling, Aluna George and The Americanos (featuring Lil Jon, Juicy J and Tyga) all have a song on the soundtrack.

There has been buzz around the film for a while now, but the movie really made headlines when the first trailer was premiered online last month. It caused uproar among the DJ community with the commentary on the simplicity of a DJ career, saying, "All you need is a laptop, some talent and one song." There aren't any crazy lines in this trailer but keep a keen ear to the unreleased Gryffin remix of Years & Years "Desire."

Warner Bros Entertainment will release the film on August 28.
