Mastodon has announced a new set of tour dates for the Fall, including opening slots for heavy metal icons Judas Priest, as well as a series of dates with Clutch and/or Corrosion of Conformity opening.
It's a small relief for fans who may have been concerned after the group cancelled 16 dates, largely in Europe, due to "a personal family matter" earlier this year. Fans of heavy rock on the West Coast are in for a treat if they can get out to one of the band's opening slots for Judas Priest (who, Music Times recently found out, is excellent live), and Mastodon's headlining gigs don't look to bad either sharing the bill with blues rockers Clutch and fellow sludge advocates Corrosion of Conformity. Among the dates listed are stops at festivals Rock in Rio and Slipknot's Knotfest.
