Morrissey is known to publish plenty of petty complaints on social media, but the latest is much more serious if there's anything truthful to it: The former Smiths vocalist claims he was sexually assaulted by airport security while traveling in California.

The performer was at San Francisco International Airport and claims he was approached by an airport security officer, whom he claims was the general manager. Morrissey states that the man stopped him, crouched down and "groped my penis and testicles."

That sounds...horrifying...and Morrissey confirms that two representatives from the British Airways Special Services were horrified. He transcribed the confrontation between the two parties as such:

British Airways: "You have just sexually groped this man."

Security Guard: "That's just your opinion."

BA: "What you have done is illegal."

SG: "That's just your opinion."

BA: "You have no right to do what you have just done."

SG: "That's just your opinion."

Morrissey says that the British airline officials suggested that he file a complaint, but he spends much of his blog post on the matter implying that the security guard had fondled him because he knew that any potential complaint would never see the light of day. He also noted that surely the incident had been captured on camera. We would like to think that if a big-name such as Morrissey were to report sexual abuse at an airport, someone would listen and investigate the matter, and we encourage him strongly to report it. And, theoretically, shouldn't the Special Services representatives be able to file a complaint against the aggressor without Morrissey's help?

Is the complain legitimate, or is the vocalist-not one fond of human contact in general-exaggerating the unpleasantness that we all face at airport security? Stay tuned for updates on this bizarre story.

UPDATE: Morrissey did, as he reports, file a formal complaint.
