Lorde may only be 17 years old, but she can knock off a major accomplishment in her life: a platinum album. Today (Feb. 28), it was revealed that her debut effort Pure Heroine has surpassed one million copies sold.

According to Billboard, this week the set sold 30,000 copies (coming in at No. 6 on the Billboard 200 album chart), notching it at a cool 1.01 million total records sold.

Released back in late September, Pure Heroine has been a mainstay in the top 10 of the US Albums Chart for a solid 21 weeks now. The record has never reached the top spot, however, only peaking at No. 3, but steady sales and continued buzz have benefitted Lorde in the long run in a way that other recent records have failed to stand up to.

For instance, not only was "Royals" at No. 1 Hot 100 song for nine weeks, but the album's second official single "Team" has also appeared high on the charts, peaking at No. 7 this week.

But, it's not just successful singles. Lorde's sales have also maintained momentum throughout the months thanks to Grammy nominations (and two wins), mentions on yearly best-of lists and continued critical buzz and praise.

Not to mention her music spans formats, easily falling into place on alternative, rock and pop music fans' playlists.

Lorde is only the third solo female performer to notch a million sales in 2013 and 2014. Beyoncé's self-titled album and Katy Perry's Prism have both also gone platinum.
