The holiday season could get a lot brighter this year with new Christmas music from Katy Perry. According to a post on the "Dark Horse" singer's Instagram, she's accompanying her H&M holiday campaign with her own merry tune.

Perry teased the new holiday song by, how else?, posting a bizarre short video on her Instagram. Alongside a caption that remarks on the silliness of singing a Christmas carol in the heat of summer, Perry revealed that her "derp squad" was working on new music, all while dressed as insane gingerbread men and women, of course.

The Instagram caption is not Perry's only teaser that she's enthusiastically working on a hot new single for those cold winter days, she also hinted at the new music on her Twitter, writing that she fell over in the studio after getting a little over enthused about a new track. The hint that it's for a Christmas melody? Pine trees, of course.

Perry's new Christmas single is expected to launch alongside her H&M campaign for the clothing store's Happy and Merry holiday campaign. In July, Perry was named as the successor of Lady Gaga and Tony Bennett as the latest face of the cheerful ads.
