One enterprising Brazilian DJ is going old-school in an attempt to try and get Madonna's attention to try and sign his remix on as an official rework of her Rebel Heart song "Devil Pray." 18-year-old (he makes sure to note that) Nick Deboni ran an ad in the Los Angeles Times Tuesday with the massive hashtag #ApproveMadonna to try and draw her attention toward his remix.

Under the hashtag has the title of the track, with his links to Soundcloud and Facebook pages. It also includes a large pictures of Deboni and the writing, "I published this ad to reach you Madonna and ask you, please, to approve my remix. I'm from Brazil - Rio de Janeiro. I am 18 year old and love your songs."

Billboard confirmed that the ad ran on the news section page 8. Madonna's team has not reacted to the ad in the paper as of yet, though with the attention this remix has gotten so far, already racking up over 100,000 plays on Soundcloud, the Deboni has started to gather some serious momentum. It isn't likely that her team will approve it, but with a cleaner mix and a little extra professional touch on it, approving Deboni's rework would make for nice story as she gets ready to go on tour this fall.

There are plenty of ways to try and get an artist's attention with an unofficial remix in 2015. Artists can spam them daily on Twitter and Facebook, which will probably lead to you getting blocked. Producers can also leave their music in the comments section of an artist's YouTube or Soundcloud channels, which will definitely work. You can mail physical demos to their teams and labels, but those are generally black holes.

Putting an ad in the newspaper is so old school that someone may notice it because of how rare the deed is. Being creative is what the music industry needs and salute to you Deboni for thinking outside of the box.
