Karen O has unveiled a grainy, New York City themed short film for her new single "Singalong," featuring stranger flooded streets, city dwellers sucked into their cell phones and sweethearts exchanging kisses while holding tightly to their dog leashes on park benches. The Asli Baykal-directed short boasts a lo-fi attribute that conjures a '70s slide show.

All the while, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs frontwoman delivers the lines "All alone on your way home / You could be wrong, sing it anyway / Sing along your favorite song" over gentle strums of the guitar.

The video for "Singalong" is Karen O's latest campaign in support of her debut LP, 2014's, Diffuser notes. In January, the 36-year-old musician joined forces with photographic pairing, Wiisa, for a wistful clip for "Day Go By," which boasts a romantically involved couple riding a vespa. Spike Jonze featured "The Moon Song" in his 2013 film, Her, crafting a video based on actress Elle Fanning's response to the track.

In May, O teamed up with Google Doodle for a new track and accompanying stop-motion animation to honor the pioneering investigative journalist and adventurer Nellie Blye. "Nellie, take us all around the world with you / We wanna make something of ourselves, too," the singer belted over slight use of acoustic guitar.

"She gave women a space in newspapers when they were generally preserved for men's perspectives," google artist Katy Wu said of Blye, CNN notes. "She gave women a voice in current events and media and dared to do a lot of things that women weren't generally allowed to do."

Celebrated indie act Yeah Yeah Yeahs have kept a low-key profile since completing their supporting tour for 2013's Mosquito and announcing a hiatus. However In April, the singer reunited with band member Nick Zinner to take on a rendition of the Velvet Underground front man Lou Reed's "Vicious" at the 2015 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
