As the 20th anniversary of the angsty album, Jagged Little Pill, approaches, Alanis Morissette recently discussed her personal eating disorder struggles in a new interview with Women's Health. The "Ironic" singer openly discussed her battles with bulimia, comparing it to the likes of drug and alcohol addiction.

"The big question for me around eating-disorder recovery is, 'What is sobriety with food?'" Morissette said. "We know with alcohol, you just don't drink it and don't go to a bar. With heroin, you just don't go near it. Whereas with food, you have to eat, so how can one go from, in my case, bingeing and purging, starving, overeating, the scale going up and down - how can I go from that to a 'sober' approach?"

The fierce lyricist continued to detail her attempts to change her outlooks on eating and food in the general sense. "For me, the idea of building boundaries has become a huge part of my spiritual practice. With the mindfulness somatic practices, it's really helped me stay in my body," she said. "I've noticed when I get the high-nutrient greens, I sleep better. There's less moodiness. Food is entirely medicine to me. That doesn't mean I'm just eating seeds and raspberries, although that's fun, too, but it's an integrative approach."

Morissette's 'Collector's Edition' of her celebrated third studio album will be released on October 30 in the form of a four-disc reissue, boasting a remastered copy of the original album, rare photos, a previously unreleased 1995 gig, a disc of unreleased demos, essays penned by Morissette and one copy of the 2005 abum, Jagged Little Pill Acoustic.

The jam-packed edition will only see 30,000 limited copies but a two-disc set will be made available, including unreleased rarities and the celebratory album, NME notes. The 41-year-old singer has reportedly been working on a Broadway musical adaptation of Jagged Little Pill alongside composer Tom Kitt and producers Vivek J. Tiwary and Arvind Ethan David. The "Head Over Feet" singer recently joined Taylor Swift onstage during her star-studded 1989 tour for a performance of JLP's anthem to Dave Coulier "You Oughtta Know."
