During Billboard's Hot 100 Festival last Sunday (Aug. 23), iLoveMakonnen announced that he will be releasing an album in October.

Earlier this month, the singer/rapper hinted at the album's release, tweeting a potential album title (iLoveMakonnen 2), along with the date "10/2015." Back in February, he announced that the album was slated for a summer release.

"It should be out in June or July-ish, but I'm going on a tour starting in April," he told MTV. "I'm working on that right now." He recently wrapped the European leg of his Loudest of the Loud tour.

In March, he released his latest mixtape, Drink More Water 5, which features guest spots from Gucci Mane, Migos and Rich The Kid.

As noted by XXL, the tape served as a prelude to Makonnen's highly anticipated debut album which will reportedly feature Drake, Diplo, Rihanna, Skrillex and Snoop Dogg, among many others. While discussing his album earleir this year, Makonnen revealed that he had also been working with DJ Mustard and Miley Cyrus, who recently earned a cameo in Mike WiLL Made-It's "Drinks On Us" video.

Prior to DMW5, Makonnen re-released his self-titled EP after signing to Drake's OVO Sound imprint. Drizzy announced the deal after remixing Makonnen's internet hit, "Tuesday."

Reportedly following his Toronto-based label head, Makonnen passed up an opportunity to be featured among XXL's 2015 Freshman class.

"Nobody turned it down this year, but some funny responses...Not funny, I don't wanna be weird, but not such responsive responses from the PARTYNEXTDOOR/iLoveMakonnen camp," XXL editor-in-chief Vanessa Satten said while explaining the selection process. "That they didn't seem so interested, so we didn't run that lane too hard."

Drizzy turned down the opportunity back in 2010.

Stay tuned for more updates on iLoveMakonnen's forthcoming album.
