Martin Garrix announced yesterday that he had decided to leave his longtime label Spinnin' Records and management company MusicAllStars Management. He cited growing differences, the inability to come to agreements on contracts and the inability to gain control of his records as the primary reasons for leaving. Today, Spinnin responded to what Garrix said and provided a very different side to the story.

In a press release sent out earlier today (via YourEDM), Spinnin' co-founder and MusicAllStars CEO Eelko van Kooten expressed his well wishes to the Dutchman as he continues his career and is "proud of the success" the two parties had together.

However he differs on what Martin says is the reason they split in the first place. According to Kooten, he acknowledges that due to Martin's success there were negotiations over the past few months to adjust his agreements with the company and were "willing to meet Martijn in his wishes to negotiate the current agreements in his favor." He also says that Spinnin' was willing to give Garrix ownership of his tracks, "we also confirmed transfer of ownership."

He finishes the press release by looking to the future, acknowledging that while their time together had been great as a two way partnership guiding the Dutchman from an unknown producer to a superstar, there are plenty more artists still out there waiting to be discovered and developed.

"We will remain doing what we are good in, which is releasing new music, looking out for, develop and release success with new talents, all with ambition and passion for music."

No matter whose side of the story holds up, Garrix is gone from Spinnin' and MusicAllStars onto Scooter Braun's management company, who he has been with for over a year.
