After Nicki Minaj and Taylor Swift put their beef to bed by performing a duet of "Bad Blood" and "The Night Is Still Young," the 2015 VMAs went outside to where Macklemore and Ryan Lewis their new single "Downtown."
Macklemore hinted earlier that he didn't want to stay indoors and the writing was on the wall that he would do "Downtown" outdoors.
Macklmore started the performance just as he did in the video, backwards on a moped, walking down the street with a group of dancers. He was then joined by the various features on the track including Kool Moe Dee, Grandmaster Caz, Melle Mel and Eric Nally as the worked over to right outside of the Orpheum Theater in downtown Los Angeles.
The rapper ends up on a stage in downtown Los Angeles with Ryan Lewis behind a DJ booth, flanked by his co-stars on the song. Just like the video, there are some pretty outrageous dance moves and choreographed acrobatics that include Nally ending up on one of the dancer's shoulders.
Macklemore and Ryan Lewis are not nominated for any categories this year, but expect some hardware coming their way next award show season.
