Love is in the air for Hollywood's young elite. This year has been filled with engagements, marriages, pregnancies, and more. The latest love birds celebrating joyous news are Shameless actress Emmy Rossum and Mr. Robot's Sam Esmail. The writer and director popped the question to Rossum over the weekend.
The 28-year-old New York native met her 37-year-old husband-to-be on the set of the 2014 film Comet, which he directed. Comet stars Rossum opposite Justin Long, in a romantic comedy about a love connections that develops into a six-year relationship between two unlikely partners. Since then, Rossum and Esmail been inseparable. Esmail's Instagram is almost like an adorable ode to his fiancee, filled with date night photos and funny Dubsmash videos they made together.

Rossum can't help but gush over her man either. In her September 2014 cover issue of Cosmopolitan, she divulged readers about the type of guys she's interested in.
"It's not like I haven't had sex on the first date, but usually that ended up in a two-year relationship," responded Rossum when asked about people confusing her with her Shameless character Fiona. "I don't gravitate to the jock; it's the nerdy guy in the corner. I'm dating a writer now [Sam Esmail, the writer-director of her film Comet]. Writers are sexy."
The You're Not You star was previously married to music executive Justin Siegel, but after a year and a half of marriage, the two divorced in December 2010. Rossum confessed to Cosmopolitan that she hoped to get married again, because the symbolism of ceremonious nuptials hold a special place in her heart.
