TV One has teamed up with the National Action Network and Reverend Al Shapton to broadcast the 2015 Triumph Awards set to film on Sept. 12 in Atlanta and hosted by STARZ Survivor's Remorse actress Tichina Arnold. The first ever television broadcast will honor several prominent individuals in entertainment, education, business and sports and will air in October.

Known for her role as Pam from Martin, the '90s sitcom, actress Arnold is living the life as a well known, working actress who just landed a very prestigous gig as the host of the Triumph Awards, a ceremony that recognizes and honors the who's-who of distinguished individuals in the African-Amercian community. Jet Magazine reported that Arnold is a two-time NAACP Image Award recipient, who has herself provided an impact on society, and is more than fitting to host the awards show as the first host of the newly televised broadcast.

Although Arnold may be viewed as a well respected and prestigous actress in the entertainment world her character, Cassie Calloway, mother to newly famed basketball star Cam Calloway on the STARZ sitcom Survivor's Remorse, is all but a class act.

The Triumph Awards are set to honor another great comedienne who stands out in society and is able to adapt to many roles and characters: Wanda Sykes. Electronic Urban Report notes that Tyrese Gibson, civil rights leader Reverend Dr. Joseph Echols Lowery, award-winning singer and humanitarian John Legend and Chief Diversity Officer and Global Director of Education and External Relations for Intel Rosalind Hudnell will also be honored at this year's show.
