With all the controversy surrounding (former) teen idol Justin Bieber these days, somebody has to come in and swoop up all those little girl's hearts (and money). Insert: Austin Mahone, a 17-year-old rising pop star who was discovered on YouTube after covering Bieber's holiday track "Mistletoe." As he prepares to take over the world and release his first studio album today (March 13), Mahone dropped a fancy new music video for his single "MMM Yeah," featuring Pitbull.

Directed by Gil Green (of "Banga Banga" fame), the clip for "MMM Yeah" features plenty of swift dance moves (like that Michael Jackson moonwalk). Mahone slides around with ease across a simplistic white room with a couch and flashing purple lights.

As MTV points out, this clip is a clear tribute to the classic 1996 music video for Jamiroquai's "Virtual Insanity." Featuring the same kind of treaded floor, a basic white couch and plenty of dancing, Mahone is acknowledging those musical artists who have broken ground before him while also making the clip something of his own. Unlike "Virtual Insanity," there's nothing revolutionary about this music video, but it's still a bright and shiny spectacle to watch. There's just something inherently awesome about a moving floor.

Seriously, Mahone's got dance ability and swagger. Even Pitbull can't take away from the youthful coolness of this music video.

"MMM Yeah" is reportedly a track from Mahone's upcoming debut album Junior Year, set to drop sometime in 2014.
