The race to the White House in 2016 and with the floor wide open it seems like everyone is having a go at it. One of the democratic frontrunners, Bernie Sanders has been surging in the polls without the help of major donors, but he got a major boost over the weekend from a different sort of influence. Over 120 different individuals from the world of entertainment, including nearly 70 musicians like Lil B, Killer Mike, Wilco's Jeff Tweedy, System Of A Down's Serj Tankian, all of Red Hot Chili Peppers and many more have signed a letter endorsing the presidential candidate.

Also included on the lengthy list are Alex Ebert of Edward Sharpe & Magnetic Zeroes, Phish's Jon Fishman, Hans Zimmer, the Foo Fighters' Chris Shiftlett, Dead Kennedys' Jello Biafra and others.

There are also some quite prominent thinkers, actors and comedians like John C. Reilly, Will Ferrell, Cornell West, Jeremy Piven, Sarah Silverman, Danny DeVito and more.

The group of artists and entertainers, who call themselves "The Artists & Cultural Leaders for Bernie Sanders" signed a letter now appearing on his website with each of their signatures prominently displayed on the site.

"We - the undersigned artists, musicians, and cultural leaders of America - are excited to endorse a new vision for our country. It's a vision that pushes for a progressive economic agenda. It's a vision that creates jobs, raises wages, protects the environment, and gets big money out of politics."

We endorse Bernie Sanders to become the 2016 Democratic Nominee for President of the United States of America."

Hilary Clinton has some of her own Hollywood nods from Kanye West and others, but Bernie may have just upped her with this.
