Actress Zoe Saldana and husband Marco Perego welcomed their twin boys in January 2015. Since then, the actress's life and body have changed so much since the arrival of Cy Aridio and Bowie Ezio. In a recent interview the new mother explained how she's allowing her body to the time it needs to rest and feels sorry for women who are so desperate to get back in the gym and get their pre-baby bodies back after just giving birth.

The Avatar star told US Weekly that after giving birth, more women should want to just take it easy and stay home with their children. "It's more like - 'Breastfeed! Stay home! Sleep," she explained. "Your kid is only 3 months old, what are you going to the gym for? Catch up on f*cking reruns of some sort!"

The 37-year-old wife and mother detailed how she just wanted to let her body bounce back naturally and pace herself. She even took the time to open up to fans on Facebook, informing them on her journey as a new mother. The actress believes that it's misleading for women to watch other women who have just given birth reemerge with bodies that look like they were never pregnant or that their bodies experienced any changes.

"I've witnessed, throughout my years in this business, women who hide in a cave and don't come out until they're a size zero, and that is a very misleading message," the Guess Who actress explained. Saldana wanted women with her on her journey after motherhood to experience what's real. "...People really responded to that and women especially felt seen and heard. Especially women with curves, and that's all of us. It doesn't matter how slim or how tall or whatever - I've got a booty! I got some thighs I've got to burn off all the time. I want[ed] to connect with women who are going through that every day."

It's not just her post baby body that the actress has to get used to. She also explained that she now has to learn how to walk in heels again because everything still hurts. "It hurts to be in heels still! And I remember my sister telling me - she's a mom of two girls - and she'd be like, 'Zoe, you will understand when you're there.'"

Hard to leave even for a little bit, but Mamá has to go to work :-) #twins #workingmoms

Although Saldana is still experiencing the after pain of pregnancy, she does share one thing that makes it worth it all -- being a mother is fun. She told People "I was surrounded by way too many moms who are always like, 'Oh my God, I got it so hard,' " she explained. "[But] my sister was always like, 'It's a piece of cake. It's super awesome.' So I stuck to her, and it's been fun."
