Kim Kardashian recently stopped by Ellen Degeneres’ show and dished on a number of topics, including her husband Kanye West's potential run for president. Interestingly, the reality tv star revealed that she didn't know her hubby had interest in putting a bid in.

Kardashian says she was just as surprised as everyone else when West broke the news during his acceptance speech at the VMAs this year.

"He did not,” she said when asked if West mentioned the idea beforehand. “That was news to me. That wasn’t a discussion in our household!” She elaborated saying, "I don’t know if that announcement was planned or if he came up with that idea right then and there.”

Although she may have been caught off guard by his initial announcement, Kardashian reassured Degeneres that West has her full support. “If he puts his mind to something, he’ll do his best,” she asserted.

Since the announcement, the "All Day" rapper has rallied up support from his musical counterparts as well as those in the political arena. Republican GOP candidate Donald Trump has even commented on the ordeal, saying he hopes to run against West for president in 2020. Others like Chelsea Clinton and Ben Carson have also backed Mr. West.

It was unclear how serious the rapper turned fashion designer was about his announcement as he bounced around from subject to subject during his 12-minute speech for the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award before leaving everyone to pick up their jaw. Apparently, moving into 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue doesn't seem too far fetched. He recently reiterated his plans during a performance at the iHeartRadio Music Festival.

As noted by XXL, West will be performing songs off his upcoming album, Swish, at a Democratic National Committee fundraiser in San Francisco at the Warfield Theater. Tickets reportedly range from $250 to $10,000 for the Oct. 10 event. Tickets for the event can be purchased here.
