Pixies have been "back" since 2004, but they've finally gotten around to releasing an album of new material. The band confirmed Monday that it would be dropping Indie Cindy on April 23, the band's first album since 1991's Trompe le Monde. The group has been producing new music for a while now, so it doesn't seem like it should be a surprise, but Black Francis and company have always been somewhat of a wild card.

Now that all the excitement has passed, we should warn hardcore Pixies fans that you've probably already heard all of the music on Indie Cindy. All of the tracks found on EP1, EP2 and EP3 will be found on the new album, as well as 2013 single "Bagboy." The music was all recorded during a 2012 session in Wales, and the album as a whole was produced by Gil Norton, who also handled Pixies' Doolittle, Bossanova and Trompe le Monde. Pixies purists can take comfort knowing that Kim Deal was still with the group when these tracks were recorded.

Have you already downloaded and/or picked up the limited vinyl editions of the EP? There are still some alluring treats in the new package, or you could just pick up the CD-version of the album. The album as a whole will be available in a gatefold 2-LP set (and available a few days earlier as a Record Store Day "exclusive." And no, this album wasn't on the release list we published Friday), and iTunes will also offer an exclusive version of the download that will include a 13-track live set. Buy an even more exclusive version of the vinyl set and you'll also receive a 40-page hardback book.

Pixies also released video for the first single celebrating the release: "Snakes," a track from this year's EP2. Check it out below:
