When Kesha got out of rehab for her eating disorder earlier this month, she not only dropped the $ from her name and got a new, more positive Twitter handle, she also told all her Animal fans that she was working on "tons of new music." Now, sites are reporting that the "Timber" singer is back in the studio, and she isn't working with her longtime collaborator Dr. Luke.

According to Billboard Brazil (via Idolator), Kesha is working with EDM bigwig Zedd (of "Clarity" fame). It's not clear what sort of project the two hit musicians are working on, but it could indicate a new direction for Kesha.

The 27-year-old has notably been trying to separate herself from longtime producer Dr. Luke for quite some time. She's been reported as saying she's not allowed to fully express herself creatively or even release a ballad under Dr. Luke's hold.

Her diehard fans have even taken up the cause, launching a petition last year to help Kesha (then Ke$ha) to break her record contract with Dr. Luke's Kemosabe Entertainment.

Best known for hits like "Clarity" (feat. Foxes) and "Stay The Night" (feat. Hayley Williams), Zedd could help Ke$ha express her softer, more personal side while still maintaining the signature party-friendly style that helped launch her to superstardom.
