Halloween is right around the corner and what better way to get you in the holiday spirit than watching scary films? Here are the 13 best horror and thriller movies to watch on Netflix before Oct. 31.

1. Rosemary's Baby (1968)

This Roman Polanksi classic is based of the 1967 best selling novel of the same name by Ira Levin. The film surrounds a young couple who moves to a young neighborhood, unknowingly surrounded by eccentric and slightly creepy neighbors.

Rosemary Woodhouse (Mia Farrow) becomes pregnant after having a mysterious dream about being raped by a demonic creature. The events she experiences during and after her pregnancy begin to spiral out of control, including her suspicions about her husband making a pact with their crazy neighbors to hand over their baby as a human sacrifice.

2. A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night (2014)

A horror romance film, deemed as "the first Iranian vampire western," features a skateboarding female vampires who preys on any man who disrespects women.

3. In Fear (2014)

In this psychological thriller, a young couple gets lost while making their way to a music festival in Ireland. Hopelessly trying to navigate the country roads, the two soon become the target of a mysterious tormentor with an unknown motive.

4. Silence of the Lambs (1991)

A young FBI cadet name Clarice (Jodie Foster) is assigned to interview Dr. Hannibal Lecter (Anthony Hopkins), a psychopath serving life behind bars for various violent murders and acts of cannibalism, in order to catch another serial killer who skins his victims.

5. Scream (1996)

A group of friends, obsessed with all things relating to horror films, is being harassed by a masked murderer seeking revenge.

6. The Babadook (2014)

A widow and her troubled son are trying their best to adjust to life despite the personal demons they battle every day. One night they come across a children's book called The Babadook to read before bedtime and unknowingly unleash a sinister presence that haunts their every move.

Based on Stephen King's short story of the same name, this supernatural horror film classic surrounds a young couple trapped in a town plagued by a cult of children out to kill anyone over the age of 18. No adult is safe.

In post-World War I, a hoax exposer visits an all-boy boarding school to help explain some reported sightings of a child ghost.

11. Funny Games (1997)

This Austrian psychological thriller surrounds two disturbed young men looking to have a little fun with a unsuspecting family. The family, consisting of a mother, father, and son, is ultimately held hostage in their vacation cabin and forced to partake in sadistic games with each other in order to fulfill the men's amusement. The film was later adapted in the United States in 2007, starring Naomi Watts and Tim Roth.

12. The Others (2001)

A highly religious mother, played by Nicole Kidman, moves her family into a new home during World War II. Trying her best to protect her children from sunlight due to their rare photosensitive disease, she decides to live in the house with very dim lighting so no one gets hurt. With barely any light in the house and mysterious occurrences happening beyond her control, the mother becomes convinced that the house is haunted.

13. The Taking of Deborah Logan (2014)

A documentary crew sets out to record footage of the effects of Alzheimer's disease, by filming a woman named Deborah Logan who is living with the disease. After displaying some bizarre actions, the crew uncovers something more sinister along the way.
