Reba McEntire was on tour between October 6 and November 19 of 2011 with AEG handling the promotions. The October 15th shows was in Huntington, West Virginia. Ronald G. St. Clair, an employee at Big Sandy Superstore Arena, was hurt when a light fixture fell on him from approximately 32 feet in the air during set-up. And after 22 pages of legal paperwork, those are the only facts that all of the parties agree on!

Ronald is suing Reba, her management company, AEG and all of its subsidiaries and "John Doe" (the unknown person who he says caused the fixture to fall on him) for:
a. Pain and suffering, past and future
b. Medical expenses, past and future
c. Loss of income, past and future
d. Impairment of earning capacity
e. Loss of enjoyment of life

AEG is suing Reba, her management company and John Doe because they say that their contract with Reba specifically stated that if anyone got sued, they couldn't be held at fault (paraphrasing), so if they're not excluded from the St. Clair lawsuit and are found at fault, Reba has to pay their part of any monetary awards plus their legal fees.

As for Reba and her management company, they say in their court filings that while yes, there was an accident during the set-up, it was not caused by one of her employees, therefore, she shouldn't be sued since the promoter is who hires the companies that set up the stage and lighting. John Doe, the man that no one seems to be able to identify, was not a Reba employee and therefore, not her responsibility. She wants the suit dismissed and her legal fees to be covered by both St. Clair and AEG.
