We've gotten over our breakup with our '90s girlfriend. Some people haven't gotten over that old relationship however, and sometimes it leads to aggressive competition when bidding for television networks. This is just a theory on our part, but regardless of whether pent-up emotions were involved or not, Jennifer Lopez snuck in under former boyfriend Sean "Diddy/Puff Daddy" Combs' nose and outbid him to buy the Fuse network

Diddy, the wealthiest member of the hip-hop community thanks to his good entrepreneurial sense, had teamed up with billionaire to make a $200 million offer for Fuse, which would presumably fall under control of Combs' Revolt network. However, NuvoTV—an English-language channel aimed at the American Latino audience—came in at the last moment and outbid Combs and his backers. Fuse hasn't revealed what the final price was.

"This is a real blow to Diddy and Revolt," said former Fuse president Eric Sherman. "Fuse was such a perfect fit for them. But having worked with Jennifer on [American Idol] I'm not surprised she and her team prevailed."

Benny Medina, the manager for Lopez, didn't think that the celebrity pair's past had anything to do with the bidding, but that both shared an acumen for business. He may be downplaying Lopez's potential for aiming for the last laugh, but he has a point. The vocalist has business deals with a number of retailers, as well as returning this season to her role as an American Idol judge. Combs of course runs the Bad Boys Entertainment Empire, as well as doing "side projects" such as serving as a brand ambassador for Ciroc vodka.
