Many are gearing up for the highly anticipated Leah Remini interview with 20/20, where she speaks openly about her former membership to the Church of Scientology and her encounters with well known Scientology member, Tom Cruise. But one person doesn't want anything to do with the interview and that's Cruise's ex-wife, Katie Holmes. Holmes denied the request to participate in the interview and wishes Remini "only the best."

As reported by People, the interview where Remini plans to speak openly and candidly about her dealings with the Church of Scientology, a religion of which she was a member of for more than two decades, will air on Friday night, Oct 30, on ABC. According to the site, the network reached out to Holmes to confirm specific facts relayed to them by Remini during the interview. They also requested that she herself take part in the interview to speak about Scientology, Remini and her ex-husband, Cruise and his role in the organized religion.

The response that the network received from their request was a simple one line statement from Holmes' publicist, declining the offer. "Katie is not making an appearance on the special, nor is she discussing Scientology, or her former marriage, and this quote was provided through her publicist."

It is not clear what the nature of the two actresses relationship is at this point, but Remini did recount a time where she went to the home of Cruise to teach him salsa dancing, and Holmes was present during the lesson. In a clip of the 20/20 interview Remini shared, her memory of going to Cruise's home with two "high-ranking" Scientology officials, who stayed during the entire lesson because Cruise is highly regarded. She also recalled how Cruise kissed Holmes multiple times during her time there and when she spoke about it, she was disciplined by being "written up."

According to E Online, Holmes is also no longer a member of the Church of Scientology, but has chosen to remain quiet about her experiences with the church and former marriage to Cruise.

She did, however, wish Remini the best. In a statement provided to People Holmes stated, "I regret having upset Leah in the past, and wish her only the best in the future." It is not clear what may have happened that would prompt Holmes to have regrets on upsetting Remini but, it could all be revealed in the 10 p.m. airing of the the 20/20 special or in her tell-all memoir, Trouble Maker Surviving Hollywood and Scientology.
