Mirror's Edge Catalyst, the highly anticipated free-running video game from EA Games and DICE (the same publisher and developer behind Star Wars Battlefront) had a release date set for Feb. 2016, but a new update has confirmed that it has been delayed. The game's release is pushed to May 24 of next year, and will apparently give the team behind it more time to create the kind of gameplay that gamers are hoping to experience. According to the game's Senior Producer, Sara Jansson, the developers are still working out some bugs that won't be completed in the time frame before the original Feb. 23, 2016 release date. IGN points out that Deus Ex: Mankind Divided and Far Cry Primal are also set to hit shelves on this date, which might have also been an influence on the push.

"We will use these few extra months to make sure that when you step into the massive City of Glass and experience the rise of Faith, it's as entertaining, impressive, and memorable as it can be," Jansson said in a news update over at the game's official website. "Mirror's Edge Catalyst has received an incredible response from fans around the world over the past months. You've been eager to see the return of Faith and the unique style and gameplay that only Mirror's Edge can create. Witnessing your positive reactions has been amazing motivation for me and the rest of our passionate team at DICE."
