Replacing Björk at this year's Pitchfork Festival Paris over the weekend, Radiohead's Thom Yorke stepped up to fill in for the Icelandic singer at Le Grande halle de La Villette for Friday night's headlining slot.

Yorke commanded the stage alongside visual artist Tarik Barri and Radiohead producer Nigel Godrich, who took on responsibility for the night's light show and electronics, Diffuser notes. The set boasted hits from Yorke's recent 2014 solo album, Tomorrow's Modern Boxes, as well as 2006's The Eraser and cuts from Atoms for Peace's Amok. Pitchfork Paris, which saw a three-night run, also featured Deerhunter, Father John Misty, Kurt Vile, Beach House and Run the Jewels on the star-studded lineup.

Bjork pulled out from her booking earlier in the year because her most recent album, Vulnicure, constantly reminded her and drudged up harsh memories of the painful separation from her long-time partner, Matthew Barney. While Bjork takes a step back to recover from personal issues, Yorke uses his to push forward. The Radiohead frontman decided to tour in the wake of his separation from his wife of 23 years in order to give Rachel Owen and their three children space to come to terms with the lifestyle change.

Jonny Greenwood, Radiohead's guitarist, recently sat down with a Russian radio station to detail the progress of the band's impending, ninth studio album, but his comments were allegedly lost in translation, according to NME. Greenwood took to Twitter to address circulating rumors that the album would be finished, leaving the band available to tour in 2016. "Lots has been recorded," he said of Radiohead's record, admitting that the group were "about to go through it all to see if it's any good."

"We hope to tour next year," he added. Whenever the release may be, fans will be waiting and ready to hear the follow up to 2011's The King of Limbs.
