On Monday (Nov. 9), Metro Boomin sent out a slew of tweets that ignited a social media war of words between the producer and Young Thug. Apparently, the Slime Season 2 rapper took offense to Metro’s tweets in which he credited Future with popularizing the current mixtape trend. The following day, Future jumped on Twitter, throwing a few jabs at Thug, who promptly responded and dismissed working with Metro in the future.

Following a successful performance in San Diego, Future took to social media to tell his fans all about it, but it was the tweet that came after on Tuesday (Nov. 10) that warranted a response from Thug.

Thug tweeted his response shortly thereafter and continued to taunt Metro.

He also retweeted a blurb terminating hopes for future collaborations from the two as Metro Thuggin. In the past, Thug and Metro teamed up for songs like “The Blanguage” and “Free Gucci.”

In recent months, Metro and Future have put out a bunch of music together, including contributions to the rapper’s WATTBA with Drake and a heap of his third studio album, DS2.

Earlier this month, Thug released his Slime Season 2 mixtape, which features a track titled “All Over” produced by Metro and Southside. Metro also produced “Be Me See Me” from the first edition of Slime Season. In October, Metro noted similarities between the two Atlanta rappers during an interview with Pitchfork.

"Working with Thug and working with Future feels the same. They don't sound like each other, but their creative process and their level of talent is the same. Anybody who knows both of them would agree," the 22-year-old producer said.

In July, Future shared some choice words towards OG Maco after he sent out tweets criticizing the rapper’s lyrical content. Check back with us to see how things play out.
