On Monday night (Nov. 9) fans were shocked to learn that Dancing With the Stars (DWTS) contestant Tamar Braxton had been rushed to the ER after it was initially reported that The Real host was diagnosed with pneumonia. Braxton made her triumphant return to the show just in time for the group performance and avoided disqualification, but alas the singer has dropped out of the show for good after discovering her medical condition is much more serious, as she has learned that she has blood clots on both sides of her lungs.
For weeks, Braxton has remained at the top of the pack, competing week after week and quickly becoming a fan favorite. However, it now looks like Braxton has met the same fate as her reality star counterpart Kim Zolciack, who suffered a mini-stroke while competing in the rigorous dance competition and opted to step down to focus on her health.
After it briefly appeared as though Braxton was going to muscle through her ailments and continue with the competition, late last night she addressed her fans via Instagram in a heartfelt post about why she could no longer compete.
Braxton posted a pic of herself in her hospital bed alongside dance partner Val Chmerkovskiy with the caption,
“With a heavy heart I regret to inform you that my season of#dwts has to come to an end along with the rest of my tour dates with @musicbykem. After yesterday's final #dwts performance I went back to the hospital (after the doctors didn't want me to leave in the first place) only to find out that I don't have pneumonia but something way more serious and that is having several P.E.s (blood clots in both sides of my lungs) As you all know I will be the first to always encourage anyone to push through any obstacle that comes along one's way. But in this case, my health is my current obstacle. .. And in TRUE #tamartian form I must go about this the exact same way as I would anything else. I woke up to a mirror and saw myself this morning and that makes me the winner because that almost wasn't the case. Take care of yourselves... I love you and thank you ALL for your support. p.s. The busy mother has a number of balls in the air, as she just recently released her sophomore album, serves as a host on a daytime talk show and a plethora of other jobs. We are definitely wishing this busy lady a full and speedy recovery!
