Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello have incredible chemistry on their collaborative new single "I Know What You Did Last Summer," but has that translated in to a real life relationship? On Monday night (Nov. 23), the two appeared on The Late Late Show with James Corden to promote their track, and in the midst of it all, they had to answer whether or not they were boyfriend and girlfriend.

When taking fan questions from Twitter, James Corden had one particularly pressing inquiry: are the two dating?

"No, we're not," Cabello and Mendes said in almost unison.

"You're saying no, but can I be completely honest? I don't believe you," Corden quipped back. "We're really not," Cabello said. The duo even denied that they've ever even made out. They both claim that the other has made a move but pushed the other one into the friend-zone.

Corden still didn't seem totally convinced, and at the end of it all, Mendes didn't even care that Corden didn't believe him.

Dating rumors aside (which seem to have sent Cabello and Mendes' publicists into a frenzy), the two had another job on The Late Late Show, to perform "I Know What You Did Last Summer." Mendes led the song both vocally and on his acoustic guitar, and well, we still can't deny that there are some big moments of chemistry between the two, and we're not just talking musically.

"I Know What You Did Last Summer" is a new single from Mendes, featuring Cabello. The track appears on the re-released version of Mendes' new album, called Handwritten Revisited.
