The fight itself is definitely one that has already made headlines and is arguably the biggest of the year, but now there's even more riding on a victory for each fighter. According to UFC's Dana White (via IGN), the winner "not only becomes the undisputed UFC featherweight champion, but also the second global cover athlete of EA Sports UFC 2."

While we wait for the action of the real-life fight, check out McGregor in some of the first, brief gameplay footage of EA Sports' UFC 2 right here (via GameSpot):

Besides the title and the cover position, there's plenty of pride on the line with this fight. Aldo and McGregor were supposed to fight earlier this year, but the current champ had to back out due to injuries. Thus, McGregor won the interim title, and has been badmouthing his opponent for quite some time. McGregor's constant onslaught of insults, high praise for himself and overall mind games could work to his advantage in the build-up to the fight, but if he loses, he loses plenty of face.

This might be the final fight for one of these two fighters. Aldo is older, and nobody would judge him for retiring after losing his title to one of the most impressive fighters in UFC. Meanwhile, McGregor could face plenty of embarrassment if he loses, so that might lead to an early retirement ... though that's a bit farfetched.
