Moogfest has quite the 2016 lineup for it's 10th year and it includes big names such as Gary Numan, GZA, Odeza and Blood Orange. This year, the festival is relocating from Asheville, North Carolina, to Durham but the span of the acts performing are a good substitute for it's traditional location. The roster is being touted as their most experimental yet.

Headliners include Numab laying a three night residency, GZA for a two-night residency, ODESZA, Laurie Anderson, Oneohtrix Point Never, Suzanne Ciani and Sun Ra Arkestra.

There will additionally be some keynote presentations by the transhumanist activist and pharma tycoon Dr. Martine Rothblatt and computer scientist Jaron Lanier, who is a pioneer in the virtual reality field. Composer Suzanne Ciani and Reggie Watts will also be featured.

Moogfest is a festival in two parts, during the day it explores the future of technology and creativity with conferences that feature panels, workshops, and installations. The second part comes out at night, where there are numerous performers who are known to take a futuristic spin on things. Mainly electronic, Moogfest also features pop and avant-garde experimental artists as well. This year, polymath artists Laurie Anderson and GZA of Wu-Tang Clan will also be participants in the program.

The festival partners with MIT Media Lab,Google, Duke University, Georgia Institute of Technology, The New Museums New Inc., IDEO, Gray Area and EyeO Festival to bring technological innovation to the public.
