If it seems as though Drake dominated the rap game in 2015, that's because he did. Following the successful release of two mixtapes, a Grammy-nominated diss track and one of this year's most viral hits "Hotline Bling," Drake has come out of this year as the biggest name in R&B and hip-hop on the charts.

Drake bested Fetty Wap, The Weeknd, Wiz Khalifa and D'Angelo for the honor, according to Billboard. Though he never got a No. 1 on the Hot 100, his domination over the charts should come as no real surprise.

The rapper/singer kicked off 2015 with his surprise project, If You're Reading This Its Too Late, and immediately took over the charts for 41 weeks and peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard 200.

Drizzy's momentum then continued. When Meek Mill accused Drake of having a ghostwriter, he replied with a slamming diss track, "Back to Back." Needless to say, Meek's accusations quickly came back to bite him -- "Back to Back" peaked at No. 22 on the Hot 100 charts.

If that wasn't enough, Drake collaborated with hip-hop's favorite trapper, Future and took his music to a whole another level. The collaborative mixtape, What a Time to Be Alive, was perfectly put together and instantly became one of the top mixtapes of the year. WATTBA also peaked atop the Billboard 200. If those numbers aren't enough clarification for his given title, Drake's popular hit, "Hotline Bling," peaked at No. 2 on the Hot 100 charts and is still going strong.

To add to all the good vibes surrounding Drake, he has also been nominated for a few Grammys. His track, "Back to Back," is being nominated for Best Rap Performance and "Energy" is up for Best Rap Song. If You Are Reading This Its Too Late was also nominated for Best Rap Album. However, "Hotline Bling" is not on the list of nominations. "Back to Back" is the first ever diss track to be nominated for a Grammy.
