BBC Radio One has unveiled the list of DJs who will host a residency in 2016. Each year they rotate in new names, while also keeping some of the more popular hosts. 2016 will see the return of Steve Angello to the decks, while also introducing upstart Dutchman, Oliver Heldens and Russian DJ, Nina Kraviz. George FitzGerald, James Blake and Heidi will hold on to their residencies for the upcoming calendar year.

The other two DJs who will host shows are Kode9 and Dub Phizix & Strategy. Skream, who has held a spot in the rotation since the beginning of 2014, relinquishes his role as BBC resident.

The residency features two, two-hour shows each Thursday of the month. The first Thursday will have George FitzGerald and Dub Phizix & Strategy back to back. James Blake will retain his slot with a 10 p.m. start followed by Nina Kraviz taking the listeners into the night at 12 a.m.

The next two Thursdays will have pairings of Steve Angello and Oliver Heldens and Heidi and Kode9.

Head of Programming for BBC Radio 1 and 1Xtra, Rhys Hughes spoke about the crop of DJs for 2016. "I'm absolutely delighted that Steve Angello will be re-joining BBC Radio 1 - a huge DJ joining the biggest international dance music radio brand. I'm also thrilled that names of the caliber of Nina Kraviz, Oliver Heldens, Kode9 and Dub Phizix & Strategy are joining the Residency roster."
