Having a residency show on BBC Radio One has always been one of the more coveted prizes for a DJ. It gives you a platform to step outside of your comfort zone and put together a mix with some personal favorites as tastemakers that might not work in a live set. It also gives the artist the platform to interview others and premiere new music as well. BBC Radio One has unveiled three new additions to its DJ residency roster to cap off 2015 -- SBTRKT, Breach and James Blake.

They will join Skream, Hannah Wants, Kaytranada, George Fitzgerald and Heidi, who are continuing their residencies through the rest of the year. James Blake had his own residency in 2014.

The shows are aired every Thursday night of the month as James Blake takes over the 10 p.m. slot on the second Thursday, SBTRKT now commands the third Thursday at 12 a.m. and Breach closes the month at midnight as well.

SBTRKT spoke proudly in a statement via the BBC about his selection.

"BBC Radio 1 has been a large part in my journey making and playing music - from listening to new music on Westwood and Pete Tong when growing up to finding new music through Gilles Peterson & Benji B, Mary Anne Hobbs, the Essential Mixes, the Maida Vale sessions and all the DJs who have supported my music and performances to this day! It will be a great honor to get to play some inspiring music on the Residency show!"

"I'm honored to be joining such a great radio station with a rich musical heritage, I can't wait to introduce the listeners to the marvelous music I'm so lucky to be around," says Breach.
