Despite his incarceration, Gucci Mane was in the Christmas spirit this holiday. The Georgia rapper released his East Atlanta Santa 2: The Night Guwop Stole X-Mas mixtape via SoundCloud.
The 10-track offering features guest spots from Young Thug, Post Malone, Lil B, OG Maco, Project Pat and more.
The mixtape cover for East Atlanta Santa 2 shows Gucci peering from a manhole with a shotgun in hand. He appears rocking his inmate jumper, but the street is littered with flyers announcing the rapper’s prison escape. His longtime girlfriend Keyshia Ka'oir poses in the background.
This summer, there were reports that Gucci was slated to be released from prison in July. However, his lawyer, Drew Findling, shot down speculation, telling MTV News that the update was not true.
"We do not know where that rumor came from, so that's just Internet and social media fabrication," Findling said. "We have no idea where that release date came from because we're still in the midst of resolving things with the Bureau of Prisons. There was some confusion on their part, about his release date."
Gucci Mane has been incarcerated since September 2013, but that has not stopped the “Icy” rapper from dropping new music.
In November, he released a short track titled "1 Foot Forward" produced by Chopsquad, the production team assembled by Chicago's Young Chop.
