Claude VonStroke's Dirtybird Records has had a banner year celebrating its 10th anniversary. With a myriad of different events and celebrations, the label heads into its second decade on the upswing and looks to continue that trend. Most labels at this juncture look to put out a retrospective box set to capitalize on those past ten years, but instead Dirtybird is looking to the future with a new seven-track compilation The New Years Special that is all brand new songs from the likes of My Cat Snoop, Jaded and Will Clarke.
As the 131st release on the San Francisco-based label, the tracks are all geared for the dance floor and are a look ahead to 2016 and beyond with fresh talent that could become familiar to fans. VonStroke gave just one requirement for the compilation in the mix description, "All the tracks work great in the club.....no headphone b-sides here."
Dirtybird has had a great 10 years and in 2015, they took the label and its venture to new heights. The Dirtybird BBQ concept grew to cities all over the United States, they launched the Dirtybird Campout in Southern California, which brought fans out to Oak Canyon Park for three days of dancing and camping. They also unveiled an official 10-year compilation filed with new music from some of the label's best and brightest.
