As 2015 came to a close, Iggy Azalea decided to preview a new track from her forthcoming album Digital Distortion. The rhyming Aussie’s fiance Nick Young recently shared his thoughts on the project and predicted that it will be the best album of 2016.

During an interview with Billboard, the Lakers star put in his bid for his soon-to-be wife’s upcoming release.

"I see how hard she be in the studio and I heard a couple songs," he said. "Couple surprises and a lot of features on there. It’ll be dope."

He also revealed that Swaggy P would indeed be making an appearance on the album, which will be produced in large part by Ty Dolla $ign's D.R.U.G.S. collective.

“I got my Swaggy P feature on it so that’s why it’s gon’ blow up,” he reportedly asserted with a laugh.

At the end of December, Azalea teased her new single “Team” to her fans. While she implied that they may not hear it just yet, she will be releasing "content, buzz songs, viral videos and other cool stuff" this month.

This past year, the “Fancy” rapper had a hard time holding her own in the hip-hop world. More recently, she made it clear that Digital Distortion will have a strong pop influence in addition to "many other things."

While hosting the Soul Train Awards, which aired in November, Erykah Badu declared that she'd be banning all rap for the night to focus on R&B and soul. She went on to take "calls" from rappers including Young Thug, Andre 3000 and Iggy Azalea, eventually telling T.I.’s protege that she could attend because her music isn't considered rap.

"You can come" she told Azalea, "because what you're doing is definitely not rap."

Iggy Azalea released her Def Jam debut album, The New Classic, in 2014.
